Collective Fear, Nervines and Nature

The collective is in fear right now with fires blazing in California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, Colorado, Utah, Wyoming and more. Plus, Covid is still here. The elections are coming up in November might be unnerving. What can one do when the world as we know it is falling apart?

  1. Breath. When you are stressed, your sympathetic nervous system gets trigged to fight or flight. The more it gets triggered, the more the nervous system gets taxed. When you breath deeply, such as inhaling to 3 and exhaling to 6, this can get your nervous system out of fight or flight and into parasympathetic nervous system.
  2. Nature is medicine. If you are feeling stressed, be in nature, ground and breath. Most people panic because they aren’t grounded and aren’t doing anything to manage their stress. Go and nature, walk on the grass and ground.
  3. Take nervine. During this time take simple nervines such as chamomile, lemon balm, or skullcap. Take as a tincture or as a tea. If you take as a tea, steep for 5 minutes, remove the leaves and then drink. These nervines work immediately to the nervous system.
  4. Focus on what you want to create. Now that you have released negative energy, it’s time to bring in positive energy. Focus on what you want. Focus on the things that are working.

May you be held during these changing times. May you be supported and loved.
