Do you feel disconnected from your body?
Do you feel like you are in your head all day?
Does being connected to your sexuality bring up shame?
I know how you feel. I have experienced sexual trauma and shame myself. I was sexually violated from a so called martial arts teacher. He would mentally manipulate me into having sexual experiences with him and he would tell me he was the only one who can heal my back injury. With his mental mind fucking, I would give into his seduction and he would get me to do things with him that I didn’t want to.
I finally was able to heal my sexual trauma and abuse powerfully and in different ways after I got engaged.
First off, feeling safe is super important. I also had a loving partner who was able to hold me and make me feel safe. So for you, safety is important and allowing the part of you that doesn’t feel safe, feel secure.
Second, the image of the man would keep coming up when we would make love. I tried different things to release him from my mental body. When I finally went to study herbal medicine, I worked with a plant spirit medicine woman who had me work with yarrow the herb. On a spiritual level, yarrow was able to protect my mental body so I wouldn’t think of this man anymore. Yarrow is a great herb to use for sexual trauma.
Third, love yourself through the process. Healing your sexual trauma takes time, but when you do, you take back your life!
